Clemes
The Friends' School's senior secondary campus (Years 11 & 12) is called Clemes (pronounced Cleems) named for the Schools founding Headmaster, Samuel Clemes (1887 to 1900). Clemes is on the Argyle Street campus of the School and is home to nearly 330 students.
Acting Head of Clemes in term 1, Lyn Tunbridge, leads the teaching and support staff in delivering Tasmanian Certificate of Education, International Baccalaureate Diploma and Vocational Education and Training programs.
Clemes is the culmination of up to 14 years at Friends' for our students and is the time when they sit their final examinations and go on to university or college and the world.
Clemes pastoral care is based on 19 small tutor groups of mixed Year 11 & 12 students. Each tutor is kept aware of students' educational progress and other issues affecting their school life.
Students at Clemes take part in a range of activities such as the annual Friendly Conference which examines an important issue of the day, social and sporting events and have access to a range of community and co-curricular activities.
