German Exchange

Five German exchange students from 'Lessing Gymnasium' in Uelzen, Northern Germany arrived in Hobart on Tuesday 1 July.Principal John Green, Deputy Principal Ina Johnson, acting Head of LOTE Caroline Jackson and German Teacher Silvia Boden welcomed our German Exchange students who will study and observe at Friends' for the next three weeks and also have a chance to visit some of Tasmania's many great tourist attractions.

Simpson Prize 

The Simpson Prize is a History Competition which is conducted annually by the History Teachers Association of Australia (HTAA) and their state affiliates on behalf of the Australian Government. The competition is for Year 9 and Year 10 students and the focus of the competition is the Australian Anzac tradition. Students were asked to write 900-1200 words. Emma Norton is pictured receiving her prize.

Grounds Upgrade Argyle Street Campus

The grounds upgrade and landscaping on the Argyle Street Campus have charge ahead over the school holidays. Much of the major construction has been completed and when students return on Tuesday 17 June they are in for a nice surprise!

Principal's Report
